  • shanghai indie designer danelle woo’s “sprezzatura collection”

The 2010 Sprezzatura Collection from Shanghai-based Singaporean self-taught indie fashion designer Danelle Woo’s Birds & Umbrella label is made for the wearer who aspires to look effortlessly chic and ‘accidentally’ pulled together. Woo wants her clients to simply slip into an outfit and not have to think about it for the rest of the day.

Woo’s designs are interpreted with her signature girlish, but edgy, style and aesthetics. Her work is all about creating easy-chic pieces that can mix and match well with anyone’s existing wardrobe. The collection is designed to give women what they want, with a little imagination and fun.

When we asked Woo what she is trying to accomplish with her clothing, she told us:

“…how a dress has the power to transform a person never fails to fascinate me. I’ve seen so many customers come through the door and when they find ‘that’ dress and stand in front of the mirror, they look so empowered and you can see their confidence immediately shining through. I want to make ‘that’ dress women want to wear…”

See below for some pieces from Woo’s 2010 Sprezzatura Collection. Let us know what you think.
