Wang Xingwei was born in Shenyang, and currently resides in Beijing. In the mid-1990s, he began to explore illustration and oil painting, always pursuing the question: how does one create meaning through art? Always keen to the greater context of art history and composition, Wang explores the great questions of life through his works: whether the concept of self, our relationship to society, knowledge, and love. His solo exhibition will be held at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art at 798 Beijing. We hope that our friends around Beijing will have the chance to check it out.
