Zhuang Peixin (莊培鑫, aka: Xin) was born in Taiwan. He firstly caught our attention with his photography, which beautifully capture life and fun among his circle of friends in Taibei. After chatting with him recently, we learned that he’s studying oil painting at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.
“I paint the distance between our bodies and our souls. When in life you find yourself swimming against a huge current and you aren’t left with any alternatives, this distance grows bigger and bigger. This is what I’m trying to express in my paintings – that sad mood, that sad condition. No eyes, no soul.”
Xin also mentioned that he will be trying some new styles in the near future, watch this space for more. But for now, he plans to remain focused on his “body and soul” concept.
