  • NeochaEDGE sources china’s leading creative talent for VICE x INTEL “the creators project” partnership

Celebrating the best of global creativity and digital arts, The Creators Project is a new partnership between VICE and Intel kicking off this summer. In addition to The Creators Project website showcasing leading-edge artists from around the world via short video documentaries, a series of events will begin in New York on June 26, and then move to London, Sao Paulo, and Seoul before a massive 3-day finale exposition in Beijing this September.

For the China leg of the partnership, NeochaEDGE worked closely with VICE (through its creative agency Virtue) to recommended, identify, and arrange shoots with a roster of China’s most promising young creatives. Covering a multitude of disciplines from electronic music, to fashion, to animation, NeochaEDGE tapped EDGE Creative Collective members and its strong local creative community ties to support VICE in finding China’s best and brightest.

See below for the first two videos from the The Creators Project featuring Chinese creatives – our good friends, Sulumi and Ray Lei.

Be sure to check out Sulumi rep’ing us throughout the video wearing a Neocha t-shirt on stage while performing at the 2007 Mini-Midi Music Festival. Very cool!

Watch this space for more The Creators Project documentaries featuring leading-edge Chinese creatives – more to come soon.

to anyone looking for subtitles, I have found German ones for both videos on the creator’s project website and a transcript of the intreviews in English: go to the link specified in the text above, change the language option to the language you want, choose “creators” and then Sulumi or Ray Lei.

more interviews with leading Chinese artists are prepared, but at the moment there is a third one ready, w/ musician Zhan Shougang (Carsick Cars).
