One of the most common criticisms we hear in China’s design circle is about the lack of compelling Chinese fonts. That’s why we’re thrilled to share the ground-breaking work of the Beijing-based design group known as “Redesign.” Drawing on years of typography and design experience, Redesign’s knowledge and command of Chinese fonts is unparalleled. The group has already released four complete font sets and their work has been featured on the cover of China’s Cosmopolitan magazine – Redesign designed the publication’s Chinese name / logo: 时尚.
As opposed to hand-written calligraphy, Chinese font design is an area long ignored and misunderstood by designers in China and abroad with frequent complaints that the characters are too numerous and the structure too complex to spur cost-efficient new designs. As strong supporters of new innovation in this area, we hope that everyone supports and pays for legitimate font sets.

these are so great, i’ve searched for good 汉字 fonts several times in the past and have come up short. are these available for download/purchase?
So great…hopefully there will be more quality design around Chinese fonts in the future.
