minikinpo’s macrame jewelry
Back in July we profiled Minikinpo (小金宝), a creative living and working out of Dali, Yunnan.
Her creativity manifests itself in many forms: she is a jewelry and accessory designer, an illustrator, a painter, and a photographer – all the while running a boutique store in Dali. For inspiration, Minikinpo looks to anything vintage or handmade, as well as things “from the past” and naturally-made / organic products. As for a platform for her work, she has created her own accessory brand, turning to the French language for a name: Ma Petite Amie (directly translated as “My Little Girlfriend”).
Minikinpo recently shared with us her latest work: macrame jewelry (see below). Macrame is a form of textile-making using knotting rather than weaving or knitting.
