  • “24 solar terms”: climate-themed typography design from shanghai-based MORE TONG

More Tong is a visual designer at Frog Design in Shanghai and “24 Solar Terms” was his Chinese typography designs inspired by climate changes of each season.

The modern application of Chinese fonts is quite limited, compared to the advances in Japan’s typography. Modern Chinese font design is evolving slowly, eager to retrieve the resources of the old Chinese fonts that we failed to make good use of, such as the art fonts on old posters back in modern times.

This set of design from More Tong could also be understood as a way to show his attitude of design.

      不错的,能在原来的作品上继续完善。

      有大闹天宫的感觉。

      设计师估计是游戏迷、忍者迷。非常漂亮的字体,但是都显得杀气重,和各自节气的气氛不很搭调
