The street photography of Shanghai-based documentary photographer Sue Anne Tay will be on display at an upcoming exhibition titled Demolish, Construct, Repeat: Building the Shanghai Dream. Sue Anne’s show is focused on the city’s disappearing neighborhoods, contrasting the migrant workers who are building the new Shanghai with the locals who are forced to adapt to the fast-paced changes.

The exhibit will run for a month and will launch this coming Saturday, September 11th. The launch party will be from 3 – 6pm. Venue: Southern Barbarian (Lujiazui) 南蛮子B1/F, DBS Building, 1318 Lujiazui Huan Lu, near Dongyuan Lu (陆家嘴环路1318号B1楼, 近东园路).

We’ve shared a selection of Sue Anne Tay’s photography work below. If you’re in or around Shanghai, make sure you don’t miss the opening reception – free Yunnan snacks with beer and wine!
